What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment that involves breathing oxygen in a pressurised chamber. The word "hyperbaric" literally means "higher pressure." During a session, you experience pressure similar to being 3-4 metres underwater.
This increased pressure allows your lungs to absorb more oxygen than would be possible at normal atmospheric pressure. The oxygen-rich blood then circulates throughout your body, supporting natural healing processes and cellular function.
Originally developed for treating decompression sickness in divers, HBOT has been used medically for over 50 years. Today, it's commonly used to help support a range of conditions and is increasingly popular for general wellness and athletic recovery.
